HARMONY & HORSES

RIDE TO A BRAND NEW BEAT

With the spirit of the horse and inspirational vibes, this program is packed with powerful education and healing! Open to ages 7-18 and serving children with Autism, ADHD, those suffering from depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

During the session participants receive 60 minutes of equine assisted learning. Equine activities include all horsemanship skills such as grooming, bathing and walking horses through our sensory obstacle courses and trails. On sunny days, we allow time up in the saddle and give beginning level riding instruction.

Students have the opportunity to play musical instruments such as guitar or ukulele for the horses and our instructor will at times play songs while the session is in progress.  Participants can also learn and sing along to  “My Happy Place”, our theme song filled with lyrics all about riding to a brand new beat and the joy of being at the ranch with horses!

INSPIRED BY ANTHONY

I’ll never forget the day I met Awesome Anthony who has Autism! I just happened to be volunteering at my favorite horse rescue ranch, ERAF when he arrived with a group of special needs kids. We somehow just immediately clicked as if I had known him my whole life. Within minutes of walking around the ranch and showing him the horses, he reached out and held onto my arm as if I was his safety net. It was and still is today such an incredible feeling of inspirational joy! I thank God for blessing me with the privilege of getting to spend time with Anthony to teach him about two of the things I love most, horses and music!

Anthony is the inspiration that led me to become a certified PATH, Equine Specialist in Mental Health Learning and develop our “Harmony & Horses” program.  He is still enrolled in our program today and every week he continues to bring light into my life. I couldn’t be more proud of how far he has come and I’m blown away every time I see him up in the saddle or playing notes on his keyboards! Thank you ERAF for allowing us to partner with your rescue horses and trusting in me and thank you Anthony for being Awesome!
